Section A & B of the Aeronautical Society of Indian has been recognized at par with a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from an Indian University for purposes of recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government.

Candidates are eligible to appear in GATE for Post-Graduates studies at some of the IITs after successfully completing Section-A and Section-B. Some of other Universities and educational institutions have also recognized this examination for higher studies, and students are advised to confirm such details from the respective institutions directly.

The Engineering Council, London has recognized our examination and those who have completed Section A & B of the Society examination shall be granted direct entry into Part 2 of their examination.

The examination, named "Associate Membership Examination" is being conducted since year1953. The syllabus for this examination was revised, updated and approved by Govt of India vide its letter No.F.18-21/74-T-2 dated 21st July1975 and has been in force since then.

The syllabus has now once again been updated and its approval obtained from Govt of India vide letter, copy reproduced below, after having been evaluated and recommended by All India Council of Technical Education.

Approval of revised and updated syllabus of Associate Membership Examination (Section A & B) conducted by the Aeronautical Society of India.

Kindly refer to this Department's letter of even number dated 16.11.2004 on the subject noted above.
On the recommendation of the AICTE, the High Level Committee of this Ministry in its meeting held on 17.09.2004 approved the revised syllabus for implementation. The Approval for implementing the revised syllabus is subject to all other conditions of recognitions mentioned in our earlier letter, remaining same.

A copy of the approved revised syllabus for Associate Membership Examination (Section A & B), duly authenticated is forwarded herewith. The earlier letter 16.11.2004 in this regard, may please be treated as withdrawn. Yours faithfully,

Recognition of Technical and Professional Qualifications



The undersigned is directed to state that the Government of India vide their O. M. No. F-18-3/57-T-2, dated 30th June 1959 had decided to recognise a pass in the Associate Membership Examination, Part II and III, of Aeronautical Society of India for the purpose of recruitment to superior posts and services in the appropriate field under the Central Government.

The Aeronautical Society of India have now revised the syllabus for Parts I, II & III Examinations, Part I Examination has now been redesignated as studentship Examination while Parts II and III have been redesignated as Sections A and B respectively. The syllable also have been thoroughly revised. The Society have now requested the Government of India for recognition of their Sections A & B Examinations for the purpose of recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government.

The Government of India has examined the revised syllable for Sections A & B Examinations and have decided to recognise a pass in the Associate Membership Examination, Sections A & B (New Scheme) of the Aeronautical Society of India for the purposes of recruitment to superior posts and services in the appropriate field under the Central Government.

Recognition of AMIETE


Dear Sir,

We thankfully acknowledge your letter No. IETE/38/93 dated April 191993 addressed to our Secretary General. We are happy to know that IETE the country's premier professional body devoted to progress in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering have conducted three examinations of "C" Level (M. Tech. Level) in Computer Science which carries the acreditation of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. We are also aware that AMIETE conducted by the Institution is already recognized by the Govt. of India and is accepted by national level GATE. As IETE Examinations are recognized by Govt. of India, we do not foresee any difficulty in acceptance of the Institution at Indian Universities, on merits for purpose of admission to higher courses.

We should be glad to write to any university in case of any difficulty to IETE graduates.

RECOGNITION OF GRADUATESHIP EXAMINATION BY UPSE


Extract of the press note regarding the recognition of Technical and Professional Qualification for the purpose to Admission to the IAS etc. and other examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for Recruitment to Non-Technical Services and posts under Central Government). Vide letter No. F.17/2/76-E1 (B) dated 31st December, 1977 the Union Public Service Commission have decided that professional and technical qualifications such as a pass in Section A and B of the AMIETE Graduateship Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, etc. which are recognized by the Government as equivalent to degree should also be recognized for purposes of admission to competitive examinations conducted by them for recruitment to non-technical services/posts (viz., the IAS) List of exemption from various papers of the graduateship AMIETE Examination as per the restructured New Syllabus, effective from the Dec'95 Examination for different acepted qualifications. (Qualification from the Institutions recognized by the Govt. of India and approved by the Council will only be accepted)

Recognition of the Grade IETE Examination (now AMIETE)


The sub matter has been carefully considered by the Railways Board & it has been decided that professional and technical qualifications such as a pass in Section 'A' and 'B' of the AMIETE, Graduateship Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers etc. which are recognized by the Government as equivalent to degree in Engineering and for purposes of recruitment of Superior Services/Posts under the central Government, should also be recognized for purposes of admission to competitive examinations conducted for recruitment to various posts on the Railways for admission to which an Engineering Degree of a Recognized University or equivalent has been prescribed as the basic educational qualification
